October 16, 2018–Latécoère, through its Interconnection Systems division, the No. 2 global supplier of onboard wiring harnesses for the aeronautics industry and No. 1 global supplier of onboard external video systems, and Sabena technics (TAT Group), a leading French independent provider of aeronautics maintenance services, have set up a partnership for the supply and retrofit of HD external cameras.
Under its MRO (maintenance, repair and overhaul) contracts, Sabena technics offers airlines the opportunity to upgrade their Airbus A330 and Boeing 777 fleets by offering Latécoère’s camera system for inflight passenger entertainment.
As part of the modernisation of all its A330 cabins, Air Caraïbes has already chosen the Latécoère-Sabena technics partnership to offer all its customers this next-generation passenger entertainment system.
The Latécoère Interconnection Systems solution offers passengers a novel and unrivalled experience by providing a real-time immersive view of all flight sequences, including take-off and landing. Today, optional modules such as video inlay of points of interest and augmented reality provide innovative solutions developed to meet customer needs.
The HD external cameras will be installed by Sabena technics in all A330 and B777 configurations. All aircraft, regardless of whether they are already fitted with a camera, can benefit from the latest technological advances with minimum time and effort.
This partnership is positioned in a maintenance and aeronautics services market that is poised for strong growth, with the number of aircraft expected to double by 2035.
France | December 12, 2016– Latécoère Group has announced that the scope of its Design Organisation Approval (DOA) issued by the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) has now been extended to match its own broader scope of activities.
The extension applies to minor changes, major changes (Supplemental Type Certificate or STC) and repairs for large aircrafts, and now covers electrical systems, avionics systems, structures, doors and hydro-mechanical systems.
This DOA accreditation is official recognition of the Group’s technical expertise and know-how in the integration of onboard systems, and means Latécoère is now able to include these systems (Cockpit Door Surveillance Systems, Landscape Camera System, etc.) in a global offer for its clients.
It has already enabled Latécoère to win three calls for tender for companies including Pegasus, and talks are also underway on around twenty other projects.
By giving Latécoère more autonomy to directly position itself with respect to operators, the DOA approval is a formidable strategic advantage for growth on markets with a higher value-added.
Toulouse, France, September, 2010 – LATECOERE, a leader in Commercial on board Camera system is pleased to announce that Korean Air chose the Latecoere digital landscape camera system (LDCS) for 10 of its purchased Airbus A380 aircraft. This order follows two other selections of LDCS from Alitalia and Turkish Airlines respectively to equip 12 A330 and 22 new aircraft (12 777 & 10 A330).
Digital landscape camera system which is a popular selectable option for entertainment includes a MPEG 2 video stream via Ethernet 100 Mbits link to the IFE and an ARINC 485 data bus for control. The system which contains two cameras enjoys passengers with forward and downward external views during taxi, take off, climbing, cruise, descent and landing.
LDCS system has already been installed on aircraft for Airbus, Boeing, Austrian Airlines, Finnair , SAA, SAS, Air France, Lufthansa, Emirates, Etihad, Gulf Air, China Airlines, ILFC, GECAS, BMI, Swiss, amongst others.
“Our goal for this product line is to offer a cost-effective system for narrow bodies equipped with current overhead panels or to provide a digital platform to interface new digital IFE system for wide bodies and long range aircraft. Our new digital technologies currently flying on world airlines today get a great success with cabin crews and passengers using A330/A340/777/A380 aircraft. We look forward to extend our market share on new aircraft and offer a global offer for entire customer fleet,“ said Xavier Carrier, Head of Prospective of Latecoere.
