Virgin Atlantic has teamed up with Panasonic and T-Mobile to offer all customers eXConnect KU Band wifi connectivity onboard its new 787 aircraft. Whether on a laptop, tablet or mobile phone, customers can connect their devices to the wireless onboard internet with just a few clicks and start surfing the web. The cost of the internet is £14.99 for the duration of your flight; however customers can browse destination and aircraft information, Retail Therapy and further Virgin Atlantic services complimentary. With power now available to every seat throughout the 787, customers don’t need to worry about losing battery and can work or play throughout their journey.

The 787 Dreamliner sees Virgin Atlantic role out Vera Touch 2 in-flight entertainment system throughout all cabins, boasting over 400 hours of carefully curated, on demand award-winning entertainment.

The cutting-edge next generation eX3 system from Panasonic features a widescreen smart monitor at all seats with a capacitive touchscreen interface allowing passengers to access content in just a few swipes and clicks. The IFE also boasts a new Skymap from Betria Interactive delivering a captivating 3D experience, infused with interesting and detailed point-of-interest content that can engage the passenger in a rich and informative interactive experience. All seats boast an integrated USB port allowing passengers to power their own devices. New to the Upper Class cabin is a 24” touchscreen monitor over the bar showing looped animations that complement the cabin environment, as well as the option to view the innovative map on a larger screen.

Virgin Atlantic is also introducing the ultimate #SkyhighSelfie, which offers customers the opportunity to update Facebook free of charge from the air. Developed in conjunction with Wavealot, this bespoke application will allow customers to check in on Facebook and share their location with their friends and followers mid-flight. The app will allow one check in per person and customers can purchase the wifi to continue the conversation. Virgin Atlantic is also developing certain #SkyhighSelfie spots in the cabin to offer customers the chance to take the perfect selfie onboard and share their experience. Itasca, Illinois | March 25, 2014/PRNewswire/– Gogo (NASDAQ: GOGO), the leading provider of in-flight communications services to the global aviation industry, announced today that the first aircraft of Delta’s long-haul international fleet has gone live with Gogo’s connectivity service. Passengers flying on Delta’s 747-400 aircraft flying from Los Angeles to Tokyo and from Atlanta to Tokyo today will be the first to experience the service.

The aircraft is also the first aircraft flying with Gogo’s Ku-band satellite service, which will be deployed on across Delta’s international fleet.

“Gogo has built and operationalized a network that has the ability to provide connectivity related services to Delta’s entire fleet of domestic and international aircraft from regional jets to 777s — almost anywhere they fly around the globe,” said Gogo’s president and CEO, Michael Small. “Delta will soon have more than 1,000 planes including all two-class regional, domestic and international aircraft flying with Gogo’s connectivity services.”

Gogo is scheduled to complete the installation of Wi-Fi service on Delta’s entire international fleet, including its Boeing 777, 767, 747, Airbus 330 and transoceanic Boeing 757 aircraft operating on international, long-haul routes, by the end of 2015.

Luxembourg | September 7, 2012– Intelsat S.A., the world’s leading provider of satellite services, today announced an agreement to provide broadband satellite capacity for Gogo, a leader of in-flight connectivity and a pioneer in wireless in-flight digital entertainment solutions, that will enable it to offer customers in-flight Internet access for transoceanic air routes and other areas around the globe starting in early 2013.

Gogo signed a multi-year, multi-transponder contract to use Ku-band satellite capacity on Intelsat 19, Intelsat 21, Intelsat 22 and Intelsat 27. These satellites are designed to provide high-speed connectivity for airline passengers crossing portions of the Atlantic and northern Pacific oceans, as well as routes over South America, Asia, Africa and Australia.

“We believe Intelsat brings to the table a long term commitment to providing Aero solutions for the aviation market, including the recently announced Intelsat EpicNG , which we expect will allow us to provide the reliable and seamless satellite coverage our current and prospective airline partners must have to meet passenger demand for high-speed Internet access on transoceanic and other international flights,” said Michael Small, Gogo’s president and CEO. “This agreement is expected to enable Gogo to provide a broad range of aircraft with a variety of technology solutions. Intelsat 22 and Intelsat 19 are currently in service. Intelsat 21 was launched on August 19, 2012 and will operate at 302° East. Intelsat 27 is planned for launch in early 2013 and will be positioned at 304° East.
