Tail-mounted connectivity solution certified to provide high-throughput Ku-band connectivity

Astronics AeroSat has received an FAA Supplemental Type Certificate (“STC”) and Parts Manufacturer Approval (“PMA”) for installation onto a Gulfstream GIV-SP business aircraft.

The FliteStream T-310 is currently offered in partnership with
Satcom Direct (“SD”) as part of its SD Xperience end-to-end
solution. The FliteStream T-310 SATCOM solution includes the next generation iDirect CX780 modem, providing compatibility with both Ku-band wide beam and HTS spot beam satellite networks.

Designed to provide the high performance needed for new spot beam satellite technology, the FliteStream F-310 delivers the highest bandwidth and fastest in-flight internet connectivity speeds in its class.

The new FliteStream F-310 provides Ku-band HTS connectivity with new technology that minimizes service interruptions when switching from spot beam to spot beam in flight. Designed to replace the current FliteStream F-210 product, the F-310 uses existing mounting provisions to eliminate any impact to aircraft installation designs and provides an easy path for OEMs to upgrade to the latest Ku-Band HTS networks.

East Aurora, NY | April 8, 2014– Astronics Corporation (NASDAQ: ATRO), a leading provider of advanced technologies for the global aerospace and defense industries, announced today that Astronics AeroSat, its wholly-owned subsidiary and manufacturer of Ku-band airborne connectivity solutions, has secured its first VVIP customer for FliteStream™, a satellite broadband solution for the VVIP aircraft market. FliteStream provides a global connectivity solution expressly designed for VVIP and business aviation customers, who demand the highest level of service and performance from airborne broadband systems. The initial FliteStream installation will be performed by Associated Air Center, StandardAero’s Large Transport Category VVIP completions center in Dallas, TX, aboard a new Boeing B747-8 for an undisclosed customer. As part of the complete FliteStream solution, Astronics AeroSat will be providing the full installation design and STC data package.
