• Showcases solutions to help airports to manage the complete cycle from landing to takeoff in a ‘smarter’ way

Dubai Airport Show | May 2014– ADB Airfield Solutions will reveal its ‘Smarter Airports’ vision at this year’s edition of the Airport Show, Dubai, scheduled from May 11 – 13, 2014. The company’s Smarter Airport concept enables airports to manage air traffic and airside resources safely and efficiently, while reducing environmental impact. To achieve this, ADB helps airports manage five key aspects from landing to take-off – Safety and Reliability, Design, Approach, AGL, Maintenance, intelligently.

The company is also displaying a host of products and solutions that tie into the Smarter Airport concept.

“Intelligent management of airside resources is at the very heart of our Smart Airports concept. We believe this is what airports will need to succeed in overcoming challenges today, and in the years ahead,” said Christian Onselaere, CEO, ADB Group. “Moreover, this concept aligns perfectly with our vision of being an end-to-end airfield technology provider, something we are moving towards at an exciting pace with the recent acquisitions of LUCEBIT and ERNI AGL*.”

ADB’s Smarter Airport concept envisages intelligent management of five key aspects – Smarter Safety and Reliability – what ADB aims to help its customers achieve, and Smarter Design – making the best use of the airport location, meteorological conditions, landing and take-off possibilities; Smarter Approach and Smarter AGL and visual guidance, including offerings from ADB Group companies – ADB Airfield Solutions, LUCEBIT and ERNI AGL, and ADB’s partners. Finally, Smarter Maintenance with its structured, ICAO-compliant and preventive approach to optimize airside availability and safety of maintenance staff completes the vision.

The company’s all-LED ‘Smarter Approach’** offering, which is on display, delivers smarter, greener and more reliable airport approach. It encompasses ADB’s proven LED AGL including its high-performance LED Approach, LED PAPI and Threshold, Runway End lighting (LEAP), ERNI’s LED Flashing lights and Approach Inset lights, and Exel’s frangible lattice masts and poles for approach lighting.
