– Leasing company also commits to three additional 787-9s

Le Bourget, France | June 18, 2013– Boeing (NYSE: BA) announced today at the Paris Air Show a memorandum of understanding with Air Lease Corporation (ALC) to purchase 33 airplanes. The Los Angeles-based leasing company has committed to order three 787-9 and 30 787-10X Dreamliners.

Boeing looks forward to working with ALC to finalize the details of the agreement, at which time the airplanes will be posted to the Boeing Orders & Deliveries website as a firm order.

“We are thrilled to announce our commitment for 787-10Xs and additional 787-9s,” said ALC Chairman and CEO Steven F. Udvar-Hazy. “Both of these airplanes possess the characteristics our airline customers desire by providing the ideal size, capabilities and economical operating costs for their medium to long-haul markets. We believe the performance characteristics of the 787-10X will build on the 787 family’s success in the marketplace.”

ALC expects to begin taking 787-10X deliveries in 2019.
The 787-10X would be the third version of the popular 787 family, with a range of up to 7,000 nautical miles (12,964 km) and seating for 300-330 passengers, depending on an airline’s configuration choices. The second member of the family, the 787-9, is in final assembly in Everett, Wash., and set to make its first flight later this year.

“ALC has taken a disciplined approach to building a portfolio that offers its airline customers the most fuel-efficient and desirable airplanes on the market today and in the years to come,” said Boeing Commercial Airplanes President and CEO Ray Conner. “The ALC leadership team has an excellent record of placing Boeing airplanes with airlines worldwide. They are an ideal partner to help establish the 787-10X in the leasing market.”

Once the order is finalized, these 787-10Xs and 787-9s will add to the more than 180 airplanes that ALC already has on order including Next-Generation 737-800s, 737 MAX 8s and 9s, 777-300ERs and 787-9s. It also will mark more than 1,000 Boeing airplanes that Mr. Udvar-Hazy and his management team have ordered over the past 35 years.

>- Clear lessor endorsement for the A321, the largest A320 Family member

June 6, 2012–Air Lease Corporation (ALC), the Los Angeles based aircraft leasing company, signed a firm contract for 36 A320neo Family aircraft, 20 of which will be of the larger A321neo model in line with the market trend towards larger aircraft across all market segments, plus 14 options.

This firm contract follows the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed at the 2011 Paris Le Bourget Airshow. Engine selection for the aircraft will be made at a later date. With this new order, ALC’s cumulative orders for new Airbus aircraft will reach 100 (50 A320 Family, 36 A320neo Family and 14 A330 Family aircraft).

“Airbus’ popular A320neo is an outstanding aircraft for airlines looking to improve their efficiency and deliver the premier short to medium haul travel experience to their passengers,” said Steven F. Udvar-Házy, Air Lease Corporation’s Chairman and Chief Executive Officer. “The A320neo Family will be a cornerstone in ALC’s portfolio going forward.”

“When a leading lessor, namely Air Lease Corporation, orders our A320neo family, we take that as a huge thumbs up for our strategy to offer a new technology, fuel-efficient aircraft. Thanks to the high degree of commonality between the current generation A320 Family and the A320neo, these aircraft fit easily into airlines’ existing fleets,” said John Leahy, Airbus Chief Operating Officer, Customers. “The A320 Family remains the most advanced and cost effective product on offer in the single aisle segment. We’re investing over 300 million Euros a year to keep it ahead of the competition well into the future.”

The A320neo Family is a new engine option for the A320 Family entering into service from late 2015 and incorporates latest generation engines and large “Sharklet” wing tip devices, which together will deliver up to 15 percent in fuel savings. The A320neo NOx emissions are 50 percent below CAEP/6 and this aircraft also has a considerably smaller noise footprint.

Over 8,300 A320 Family aircraft have been ordered and more than 5,000 delivered to more than 360 customers and operators worldwide.

– ALC To Take Delivery Of Four 787-9 Dreamliners, Four Next-Generation 737-800s
– Order Valued AT More Than $1.2 Billion At List Prices

Seattle, WA | December 8, 2011 — Boeing (NYSE: BA) and Air Lease Corporation (ALC) have finalized an order for four 787-9 Dreamliners. ALC also exercised options for four Next-Generation 737-800s. The order, with a list-price value of more than $1.2 billion, marks the completion of an agreement announced during the Paris Air Show in June.

“This order is a continuation of Air Lease Corporation’s disciplined approach to building its fleet,” said Ray Conner, senior vice president for Sales and Customer Support for Boeing Commercial Airplanes. “Air Lease Corporation has positioned itself for success since starting business early last year. These 787-9 Dreamliners and 737-800s support its strategy of establishing a fleet of young, high-quality, high-demand airplanes for its airline customers.”

The airplanes join the 74 Next-Generation 737-800s and five 777-300ER (Extended Range) airplanes that ALC currently has on order.

“This order will continue to diversify our portfolio of efficient airplanes for our airline customers,” said Steven F. Udvar-Hazy, chairman and CEO of Air Lease Corporation. “The 787-9, with its increased size and range, will provide our customers the ability to serve more cities with the lowest possible cost per seat.”

The Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner is a slightly larger version of the 787-8 and will carry 250-290 passengers on routes of 8,000 to 8,500 nautical miles (14,800 to 15,750 kilometers). The 787 provides airlines with incredible fuel efficiency, resulting in exceptional environmental performance. The airplane uses 20 percent less fuel than today’s similarly sized airplanes. It also will travel at a speed of March 0.85, which is similar to the speed of today’s fastest wide-body airplanes.

“Air Lease Corporation’s order helps establish the 787-9 Dreamliner in the leasing market,” said Bill Collins, vice president of Leasing Sales for Boeing Commercial Airplanes. “It also builds on the continued market success of this airplane.”

The order increases the number of 787-9s on order to 270 airplanes from customers located all over the world. The 787 Dreamliner family, including the 787-8 and 787-9, has accumulated a total of 825 orders.
