• Family orders top 4,300 aircraft

Toulouse, France | September 14, 2015– Wizz Air, the largest low cost carrier serving Eastern and Central Europe, has firmed-up a commitment signed in June at Le Bourget International Paris airshow for 110 A321neo aircraft. The agreement is the largest single order for the popular A321neo ever. The deal pushes firm NEO orders above 4,300 aircraft. This order includes the latest A321neo Airbus Cabin Flex configuration with 239 seats in 18 inch comfort standard.

Currently Wizz Air operates 63 A320 Family aircraft on one of Central and Eastern Europe’s most extensive networks with over 380 routes from 22 bases.

The A320neo Family aircraft offers the lowest operating costs of any single aisle aircraft delivering 15 per cent fuel burn reduction at entry into service, and 20 per cent by 2020, achieved through cabin innovations, latest engine technologies, and overall efficiency improvements.

With one aircraft in three sizes (A319neo, A320neo & A321neo), the A320neo Family, seating from 100 to 240 passengers, seamlessly covers the entire single-aisle segment from low to high-density configurations on domestic to longer range routes. To date, Airbus has sold more than 12,200 single aisle CEO and NEO aircraft and delivered over 6,700 CEO to more than 300 operators worldwide.

  • Eight A350 XWBs, three A330s, 20 A320neos for the group

France | August 6, 2015– International Airlines Group (IAG) has signed a firm order for 31 Airbus aircraft, which includes 11 wide-body aircraft (eight A350-900s, three A330-200s) and 20 A320neos. The A350s and A330s are slated for Iberia’s fleet modernisation and to open new long-haul routes, and the A320neos will be allocated to the group’s airlines for fleet replacement.

With this latest order for 31 aircraft IAG and its airlines have ordered a total of nearly 450 aircraft from Airbus. IAG’s airlines British Airways, Iberia and Vueling, between them operate nearly every aircraft in Airbus’ product range from the smallest single aisle A318 to the world’s largest wide-body A380.

The A350 XWB is the world’s most modern and efficient aircraft family. Over 780 aircraft have been ordered and five delivered. Since entering into service in January 2015, the fleet of five A350 XWBs have demonstrated high operational reliability and passenger appeal. The A330 is one of the most popular and versatile widebody aircraft ever and has to date won over 1,500 orders, with over 1,200 delivered to some 110 operators worldwide.

The A330, the A350 XWB and A380 make up the Airbus widebody aircraft Family, which uniquely spans the 250 to over-500 seats segment.

The A320neo Family aircraft offers the lowest operating costs of any single aisle aircraft delivering 15% fuel burn reduction at entry into service, and 20% by 2020, achieved through cabin innovations, latest engine technologies, and overall efficiency improvements. To date, the A320 Family has won more than 11,800 orders and over 6,600 aircraft delivered to more than 300 operators worldwide.

  • Signals strong demand for Airbus’ latest A330neo and A321LR models

France | March 9, 2015– Air Lease Corporation (ALC), the Los Angeles based aircraft leasing company, has firmed up its order for 55 Airbus aircraft, comprising 25 A330-900neo and 30 A321LR – the very latest members of Airbus’ modern, fuel-efficient aircraft family.

ALC was first to sign up for the newest member of Airbus’ market leading widebody family, the A330neo, announcing a commitment for 25 A330-900neo during the launch at the 2014 Farnborough International Airshow. ALC was also the first to commit to the A321LR, the newest variant of the A321neo, after signing a Memorandum of Understanding for 30 at the launch in January 2015, increasing its commitment made for 60 A321neo at the 2014 Farnborough Airshow to 90 firm A321neo aircraft.

Including today’s announcement, ALC’s total firm orders for Airbus aircraft stands at 258, comprising 53 A320ceo Family, 140 A320neo Family, 15 A330 Family, 25 A350 XWB Family and 25 A330neo Family.

The A321LR, the latest member of the market leading A320neo Family, will be able to fly longer routes of up to 4,000 nm. The A321LR will provide additional flexibility as it will have the longest range of any single aisle airliner, making it ideally suited to transatlantic routes and enable airlines to tap into new long haul markets which were not previously accessible with current single aisle aircraft. With 206 passengers in a comfortable two-class layout, the A321LR offers the possibility for each passenger to carry up to three bags. First deliveries will start in 2019.

The A330-800neo and the A330-900neo are two new members of the Airbus Widebody Family launched in July 2014 with first deliveries in Q4 2017. The A330neo incorporates latest generation Rolls-Royce Trent 7000 engines, aerodynamic enhancements and new cabin features. Benefitting from the excellent economics, versatility and high reliability of the A330, the A330neo reduces fuel consumption by 14% per seat, making it the most cost efficient, medium range Widebody aircraft on the market. In addition, A330neo operators will also benefit from a range increase of up to 400 nautical miles and all the operational commonality advantages of the Airbus Family.
