Leading Asian b2b Aerospace Event Pledges To Repeat Winning Formula of Exhibition, High Level Industry Conferences and Enhanced Business Aviaiton Content

Asian Aerospace International Expo and Congress returns to Hong Kong’s AsiaWorld Expo at the earlier time of March 8-10, 2011 with a programme that promises to eclipse 2009’s event. Organiser Reed Exhibitions, working with key industry partners in Asia and media partner, the Flight Group, has been so encouraged by delegates’ response to its unique and integral conference programme that it is bolstering that element next year. It is also expanding and reshaping its business aviation content at the adjacent Hong Kong Business Aviation Centre.

In September Asian Aerospace 2009 attracted over 12,600 attendees – 81% from Greater China, including Macau and Hong Kong; 5% from South East Asia and 14% from the rest of world. The show attracted 2,200 senior airline representatives (37% of total participants) and 100 senior industry speakers addressed the supporting conferences. Over 300 media flew in to report on what has now become a must attend show for commercial aviation in Asia. Some 97% of visitors said they achieved their commercial objectives at the show.

“Asian Aerospace is unique on the aviation calendar because it is a pure, independent commercial show. It is not aligned with any government and is a recognized b2b show with no flying display content,” said Head of Global Sales, Aerospace Group Richard Thiele. “This show is a brilliant foundation for commercial aviation businesses to take advantage of the massive growth that this region is set to enjoy and Hong Kong, with its easy access, vibrant hospitality and close proximity to China is the right venue for business to business networking.”

Reed Exhibitions, which has been organising large scale events in Asia since 1971 in various sectors, continues with its strategy to expand its aerospace activities in the region. Asian Aerospace 2011 will feature the AA Congress, the must attend event for lively discussion and engaging debate on air transport trends and infrastructure, plus conferences on MRO and training and Air Freight.

Drawing on its strong business aviation profile in 2009 with a record 16 aircraft out in the static park and a complementary two half day conference programme with the Asian Business Aviation Association (AsBAA), Asian Aerospace is planning to develop this content to reflect the strong growth in the sector.

Asian Aerospace will continue to be a strong platform to open up Chinese manufacturing capability to Western manufacturers. Exhibitors from 28 countries participated in 2009 and among the highlights was the international debut of Shanghai-based Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China (COMAC) new C919 airliner.
