Why Airlines Should Care About Social Media – By Raymond Girard
This week we are devoting our Hot Topic to the social media phenomenon and why it is important for airlines (and your business). We asked an expert, Raymond Girard, President Spafax Interactive to talk a bit about a subject he knows as well as anybody in this business. You see, we met Raymond at the WAEA Conference last month and he blew us away with his knowledge and experience in helping airlines get more out of social media tools like Facebook and Twitter. Spafax has developed a program to aid airlines in this area and we wanted you to know about it. Mr. Girard really did a yeoman’s job and being so good, we did not want to cut the story to fit our limited Hot Topic space. Follow the link below and remember, this stuff is not just for airlines, social media will, in some way, affect your business in the future.
On another note, a few weeks ago we ran a Hot Topic about Goodrich/TEAC product. The product we meant to write about is shown here – the new VE-801HDD digital video player, designed to be a cost effective and true Plug and Play replacement for legacy video tape installations. The unit supports MPEG 2 and MPEG 4 video formats and has decryption capabilities to allowing the playback of Early Window content. The system has been designed with existing components which have been previously qualified which improves performance and reduces development risks. The new slot loading Slim Line HD Combo drive was chosen to support HD and DVD discs with data capacity up to 50GB. The VE-801HDD adds to the range of products and systems offered by Goodrich Sensors and Integrated Systems that enhance ease of operation, maintainability, reliability and passenger enjoyment.
